Good Old Sausage and Mash!

After meeting some mums who think they can't cook, I thought I'll create this blog to prove that everyone can cook! :) I'm going to start with good old sausage and mash! Quick, simple and doesn't cost a fortune! I'm sure everyone can do it! :) Firstly we need 2 main ingredients: sausages and potatoes. I've got sweet chilli flavoured sausages, because these are our favourite :)
Just pop them in the heated oven for as long as it says on the packet (25-30min). Put potatoes in a pan with cold water and place on a high heat. If you want them to start boiling quicker and save couple minutes of energy place a lid on top and take it off once they start boiling. Boil until soft and you can easily put a knife through (15-20min).

We love onion gravy! So I chop the onion into small pieces, because my daughter prefers so :) I fry onion with a bit of oil on a medium heath until soft.

For gravy I did use granules, could make your own, but I hadn't enough time with 2 little girls :) Pour it over onions and keep it on a low heat, add more water if it's too thick.
We also love some peas with our sausage and mash. We use frozen peas, just add them to boiling water. They only take few minutes.

Mash potatoes with a bit of butter and milk when they're ready. I've got potato ricer last year and it's great! :)

Sausages are ready! Time to dish up. Tonight it's just me and my 2 daughters (4 year old and 8 month old). Meal for my baby daughter goes into the blender. It's her first sausage and mash and she absolutely loved it! Just like her big sister :) All plates were clean! Stress free night. Now they're both in beds, happy with they full tummies :) xx

What are your favourite meals? Do you think you can't cook? :) xx
